Faith Formation at Christ Church

Faith Formation at Christ Church Grosse Pointe walks with children and teens from their very first Sunday in child care through their high school graduation - one continuous journey, told in age-appropriate stages, all rooted in wonder, story, and relationship.

A Journey in Three Movements

  • Atrium (Pre-K–Grade 4). Our youngest children encounter God through Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS), a contemplative, Montessori-based method built around hands-on materials and unhurried wonder. Also see our Sacraments page for our enrichment opportunities for Eucharist and Reconcilation.
  • Middle School (Follow Me). Our middle schoolers walk verse by verse through the Gospel of Matthew in Follow Me, a program paired with clips from The Chosen and a handmade keepsake journal built page by page across the year.
  • High School (Camino). Our teens gather in small, intimate Camino groups - five to seven young people meeting weekly - for a study of C.S. Lewis’ classic Mere Christianity and Ignatian spirituality and an immersive weekend retreat at the end of January. Also see our Sacraments page for details on Confirmation Preparation.
 
Across every age, the sacraments mark our shared milestones; our One Big World team carries the church's justice and peace work into the hands of young people; a full calendar of Special Events brings families together outside the weekly rhythm. Whatever your child's age - or whatever your own gifts and availability - there is a place for your family here.
