"Confirmed" indicates that a person has made a mature, public affirmation of faith which has been confirmed by an Episcopal Bishop through the laying on of hands. When someone has been confirmed in another Episcopal congregation, a letter of membership can be transferred from the previous congregation. When someone has been confirmed by a Bishop in a Roman Catholic, Lutheran, or Eastern Orthodox Church, that person may be received by an Episcopal Bishop in a service. At Christ Church, we offer this annually with the visitation of our bishop, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Bonnie A. Perry, on the Day of Pentecost.
