With activities spanning the week, the community of Christ Church engages in regular formation for children and adults, serves our community with our local partners, gathers as a diverse community comprised of young families and empty-nesters, single moms and partnered couples, working women and men and retirees, and worships God accompanied by the beauty of the Christ Church Choir. Our Church home, the Christ Church campus, includes an 90 year-old English-gothic church, parish hall, choir room, and office wing, and a 20 year-old, modern, 3-floor Education wing, which combine to provide for the expanding ministry of Christ Church.

Associate for Christian Formation

Possessing a passion for Christian Formation, the Associate (lay or ordained) provides critical leadership in our parish community overseeing, developing, shepherding, and shaping a vibrant formation program for all ages with the primary goal to build faith and community, form disciples of Christ, and equip parents to live and share their faith with their children.  Additionally, a priest associate, will share and participate in the full liturgical, pastoral, and priestly ministry of Christ Church.
We seek a highly-motivated, energetic priest or lay-person with 3-5 years of experience, who possesses a deep and articulate faith, a commitment to the daily community of prayer at Christ Church, rich imagination, and the ability to take initiative while working collaboratively with staff and volunteer leadership.

Associate for Finance and Administration

Supported by the Staff Accountant and Maintenance Supervisor, the Associate for Finance and Administration, provides strategic leadership and management for all business and administrative affairs necessary to support the ministry of Christ Church Grosse Pointe. Primary areas of responsibility include: finances, human resources, stewardship of all buildings and grounds, financial stewardship leadership and support, and IT and office administration.
This position is ideal for someone with executive level experience in business or not-for-profit organizations, and proven leadership experience and management skills. The successful candidate will possess strong financial and administrative skills, impeccable integrity, strategic vision, and obvious leadership capacity.

Executive Assistant to the Rector

The Executive Assistant provides critical administrative and organizational support to the Rector to further the broad ministry of Christ Church. The ideal candidate will have experience in office administration, and preferably as a direct support to senior management. The Executive Assistant exercises discretion in managing the Rector’s correspondence and calendar, general administration support to the Rector, and regularly serves as the welcoming presence of the Rector to the parish.
The role requires strong organizational skill and a fluency with several desktop publishing systems. The role is unique in that there is a high level of organizational and administrative work, while also serving as valuable public
face to our community.
The Executive Assistant shall be on duty on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and half-day on Friday. On occasion a feast day or event may require weekend or evening support. On those occasions, schedules will be adjusted.

Staff Accountant

Possessing a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an equivalent bookkeeping role or as a staff accountant, the Staff
Accountant provides critical support to the broad ministry of Christ Church. Responsible for managing the day to-day bookkeeping entries, the Accountant provides essential support for the accurate maintenance of all financial records of the Parish (and ancillary ministries) in conjunction with the Associate for Finance and Administration and Treasurer.
We seek a detail-oriented individual who is highly organized, excels with spreadsheet creation and database entry, is knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles, and demonstrates integrity and confidentiality.
Strong personal character is a must, with humility, humor, and discretion being important characteristics.
This important role will suit someone who possesses exceptional “10-key skills,” is well organized and  administratively minded, and thrives in support of a team.
A mutually agreed upon schedule shall be set to accommodate the needs of Christ Church while providing flexibility to the Accountant. Ordinarily, the Accountant shall be scheduled during office hours Monday through Friday, with a limited amount of work to be conducted remotely.

Maintenance Supervisor

Possessing a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an equivalent facilities experience, the Maintenance Supervisor provides critical support to ensure that the buildings and grounds of Christ Church are maintained and preserved at the highest level to serve the needs of Christ Church and our surrounding community. The Supervisor performs and oversees a variety of semi-skilled work related to the maintenance of the facilities such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, and safety. In addition to the church buildings, the Supervisor oversees the upkeep of all residential properties owned by the Church.
This important role is ideal for an individual who loves “old buildings”, has an attention to detail and fine craftsmanship, and possess experience with light mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
A mutually agreed upon schedule shall be set to accommodate the needs of Christ Church while providing flexibility to the Maintenance Supervisor. Ordinarily, the Supervisor shall be scheduled during office hours
Monday through Friday, with a limited amount of work to be conducted remotely or on weekends.
