A licensed PRH educator (Personality and Human Relationships), Ron serves as spirituality faculty for CREDO, a clergy wellness initiative of the Episcopal Church. He is a facilitator and curriculum developer for the Sustaining Pastoral Excellence grant to Detroit’s Ecumenical Theological Seminary. Now retired from pastoral ministry, Ron served for five years as associate rector of Christ Church Cranbrook, and for 25 years as rector of the Church of the Messiah in Detroit. He is an Honorary Canon of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. Ron is a Kalamazoo College grad and did Masters studies as a Wilson Fellow at the University of Rochester. His M.Div. is from Episcopal Divinity School. He lives on Detroit's east side with wife Jackie, a retired educator. They have two children, Shannon MacVean-Brown and Seth Spann, and one granddaughter, who has them all outnumbered.
