Buckets of Rain

Opportunities to Serve at Buckets of Rain

Since 2012, Buckets of Rain has committed itself to the transformation of blighted neighborhoods in Detroit and Highland Park through the construction of urban gardens on abandoned city lots.  In five short years, they have re-purposed 30 blighted lots into food production, and grown or provided hundreds of thousands of servings of vegetables, free of charge, to our partners and neighbors.  Through their work and education efforts, Buckets of Rain diminishes urban blight, rekindles hope in struggling neighborhoods, brings fresh vegetables into the neighborhoods, and feeds the homeless.

Join us as on our service days twice a month - all ages welcome! We will meet in the Christ Church parking lot at 9am or you can meet us directly at the garden at 9.30am. The team captains will be in touch with Buckets of Rain prior to the service day to determine our tasks and the garden we'll be working at (either Glendale in Highland Park or Fairview in Detroit).

Bring work gloves, dress in work boots and bring sunscreen and hats.
