Founded in 1930, the Choir of Men and Boys serves as the principal choir for the 11:15 am service each Sunday. The choir consists of approximately 20 boys from 4th through 8th grade and professional singers from Grosse Pointe and the surrounding area who sing alto, tenor, and bass to complete the traditional choral sound.
With a remarkable repetoire of over 200 anthems and motets, choristers excel at musical performance, learning to read music, and perform at a level well beyond their peers in age.
The Boy Choristers rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 – 6 pm and Saturdays from 9:30 – 11 am. The rehearsal schedule is supplemented with music theory classes and voice lessons scheduled throughout the week resulting in the well-rounded vocal education of the boys.
