Conversing Girls

Attention girls who have just completed grades 3- 8. On June 19, CCGP will host Nicole Runyon MSW  to facilitate two talks and two short parent presentation.

Grades 3, 4, and 5
10 - 11:30 am

Empathy Development: How to show kindness and understand what is going on inside someone who doesn't. When someone doesn't show kindness and empathy to their peers it is because they are experiencing emotional pain. This workshop will teach girls to recognize when they are feeling emotional pain and how to talk about it so that it doesn't get projected onto someone else.

12 Noon - 1:30 pm

Identity Development: How to be yourself, even when it does not seem cool. Adolescents develop their identities from age 12 to 18. Middle School is a crucial time for them as adolescents figure out whom they are while at the same time operating out of a need for approval from their peers. This workshop will explore ways in which the adolescent can be confident in one-self and still make friends.
